This section starts in Yuen Tun Ha. It’s a challenging hike that starts with a nice walk through Tai Po Market and then takes you uphill with almost 2000 steps to Cloudy Hill (440m). It is a strenuous climb but the view you will get is worth every step!

How to get there: Take MTR to Tai Po Market, take taxi to Wun Yui or you can take green minibus 23K, the ride will take about 5 min. It will take you about 1¼ h to travel from Central to the starting point.
How to get home: Section 8 finishes on top of Cloudy Hill. The best way to return home, is to continue along section 9 to Hok Tau Reservoir. At the reservoir, by W112, turn left and walk the service road for one kilometer to the bus stop. Take the green minibus no 52B to MTR Fanling station. It will take you about 1,5h to get from Hok Tau Reservoir to Central.
Good to know
This hike finishes on top of Cloudy Hill, far away from civilisation. It’s best done together with the first 3km of section 9.
