This is the second shortest section of the trail. It is memorable for its ridgetop views and the two hills, Grassy Hill (647m) and Needle Hill (532m). You will also see an impressive dam at Shing Mun Reservoir.

How to get there: Starting point is Shing Mun. Take the MTR to Tsuen Wan (exit B), follow the walkway across to Shiu Wo Street. Take green minibus no 82 to Shing Mun. At Pineapple Dam turn right to walk along the edge of the Jubilee Reservoir.

How to get home: Ending point is Lead Mine Pass. This is far from all transportations, so the hike is best done together with section 8.
