Trail runs along the line of hills that separates Tsuen Wan from the Yuen Long-Shek Kong valley, winding through Tai Lam Country Park, the second largest Hong Kong Country Park. The trail is mostly shaded and on concrete roads. There will be bikers and minivans using this road from both directions — better be careful of that.

The path is a shaded tree-lined concrete road past some Chinese tombs. You have excellent views of Yuen Long, Tai Lam Country Park, Ma On Shan and the Hui Po Reservoir.

Highlights:  Acacia plantation along the trail, camping location at Tin Fu Tsai, excellent views of Yuen Long, Tai Lam Country Park, Ma On Shan and the Hui Po Reservoir.

How to get there: Take MTR to Tsuen Wan (exit A) turn immediately left to Tai Ho Rd, take bus 51 to Tsuen Kam Au, get of at the head of the pass near the sign “Welcome to Yuen Long”.

How to get home: This section end at an odd place so it is easiest to just continue on to section 10. But you can continue walking on on the trail until the Yuen Tsen Ancient Trail departs to the left to Tsing Lung Tau on Castle Peak Rd and take the bus from here to Tsuen Wan. This is a very long walk down to the bus from the ending point of section 9.

Good to know
Since there is not a easy way to get back between sections 9 and 10 we suggest doing both at the same time. Remember it can be physically demanding to do such a long hike.
